The Insight was designed in 3D CAD software. It was designed around a
simple fuselage box made of balsa and plywood. All of the turtle decks,
canopy, belly pan, and cheeks are made from sheeted foam parts. This
construction is straightforward, light, and strong. The fuse is 6" wide and is
also quite wide at the tailpost, which adds significant rigidity to the tail
section.

Full size plans for the Insight v4 are available in a pdf file format or in printed form. There
are two sheets which contain all the formers, and templates for foam cutting. Sheet 1 is
36"x80" (full size fuse views) and Sheet 2 is 36"x60" (foam templates and parts). The plans
(files or in print) also come with a CD containing a detailed build notes document and
hundreds of photos from previous builds. The photos include setups for the YS140 and
the OS160 (both side mounted and vertical with wrap around header).
